Annoying The Reader

Don’t you just hate when you’re half way through a really good series and the author decides that first person, or third person, isn’t enough anymore? So they expand by doing both or going into first person with a different character.

Why is that do you think?

I know that authors try to expand their creative minds. But why do they have to do it during the same series? I mean, couldn’t they wait and expand on a different book or even a different series all together?

Why do they have to frustrate the reader?

Tell me.
